After a delay until further notice, we learned virtually nothing new this year about the sequel to Dying Light. However, that should change in 2021. Dying Light 2 in the first month of 2020 has been postponed indefinitely. Until that point, we were getting information every few months about the sequel to one of the most popular zombie games. Later we could find out almost nothing about when we will get new information about the mentioned title and its potential release. By all accounts, we’ll have to be a little more patient because we should get some knowledge about Dying Light 2 during 2021. Exactly what date, is not known at the moment, but the development studio Techland can hardly wait to show what they have been working on all year. At least that's what they confirmed on their Discord server. Dying Light 2 was announced in 2018, and the Polish studio has been working on it since 2015. The first Dying Light received regular updates in parallel with the production of its sequel, both through cosmetic content and through DLCs. Not only that, but a battle royale version of Dying Light was created in that period, but it failed to come to life. Another free game is available on the Epic Games Store as part of their holiday sale event. This time, it’s an indie offering by Beam Team Games, titled Stranded Deep. This game puts players in the role of a plane crash survivor stranded alone in the Pacific Ocean — or rather on an island. There, players will need to learn to survive in any way they can. This means hunting and fishing, coming up with clean water, and avoiding sunstroke. To survive all these things, they’ll need to craft tools and weapons, build everything from housing to vehicles, and explore both land and sea. Farming and hunting come in pretty handy as well. The game is currently in early access, so keep in mind that it’s not complete when you go to grab it. That said, you’re getting it for free rather than the $15 early access rate, so maybe that’s not that big of a drawback. Don't think that a crossover between the Resident Evil and Portal series is on the horizon - only a new website for Capcom horror fans is in preparation. Resident Evil is one of those series that has an atypically active website. The current one, at residentevil.net, often brings various surveys, reminders, explanations, etc. But that site will soon become a thing of the past as it will be replaced by the new Resident Evil Portal (that’s exactly what they call it). Capcom will launch the site in early 2021 and say the place will be for all those who are thirsty for fun through Resident Evil. The biggest change will be that the existing RE Ambassador program and Biohazard Club 96 will be merged into this new site (they have been separate so far). It doesn’t mean much to us right now, but it will probably mean when Resident Evil Village comes out, which like the previous two games, will have an online segment to collect statistics and possibly share them with the rest of the Resident Evil community. While CDPR is working in the background to fix the game in terms of bugs, the players themselves take the initiative and add some of the painfully absent features to the game in the form of mods. Imagine my disappointment when, after about 20 hours of playing Cyberpunk, I wanted to change the look of my character and then realized that this possibility does not exist in the game. "Well, can I at least get a haircut ?!" I wondered, secretly hoping that one of the ripper doc icons scattered on the map was actually a hair salon. What the CDPR failed to implement, the modding community reluctantly accepted as a challenge. The result is a small mod named Arasaka Appearance Updater. It is a .exe file that will select your latest save at startup and allow you to change the character's hairstyle, but also certain facial features. You can see the results of the changes immediately, and when you are satisfied, the mode will update your save file with one click and refresh the look of your character. The talented creator of this mod does not plan to stop there and hopes to expand the functionality of the mod to the level of a game character creator shortly. If you don’t feel overly creative, the internet is already teeming with pre-created characters and instructions for recreating them within your game. Who knows what else awaits us when it comes to mods for Cyberpunk 2077. Maybe the game will suffer the same fate as Bethesda's games in such a way that the players will be the ones to polish the CDPR game and make it even more fun in the long run than it currently is. A holiday celebration is underway at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla as part of which new assignments and prizes have been prepared. Although Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a single-player adventure, Ubisoft has prepared seasonal content for it just like for multiplayer titles. The first such seasonal content is the Yule Festival which will take place in the game until January 7. If you have already played it these days, then you have certainly been notified. In short, the Yule Festival is activated in Ravensthorpe where it has now started to snow. To participate in the festival, you must complete at least one of the stories, or solve a set of quests in one of the regions of England. The festival includes celebrations with a variety of mini-games, such as drunken wrestling and shooting challenges. New tasks have been prepared, the solution of which gives you Yule Tokens that you can exchange for festival awards. A photo competition is also underway. Until January 1, 2021, you can post your photo from the Yule Festival on Twitter to get a chance to win a book with conceptual drawings from the game, and Helix credits worth 50 euros.
